The Stock Study Group meets on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the San Mateo Senior Center. Meetings last about two hours and welcome everyone from beginners to experienced investors.

Members discuss market and economic trends, review major stock indexes and commodities, and present topics such as portfolio strategies, options, international markets, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and current events affecting investments.

The group also holds an annual mock portfolio competition in which members select stocks without investing real money. The portfolio has significantly outperformed the S&P 500 during each of the past two years.
